I found a little posy,
A daisy I named Rosie...

So begins the apparently simple little book that has been described by one reader as "all the spiritual scripture I'd ever need." It's fundamentally about our growth in the world from small self to divine, all in 40 inspired lines and joyful illustrations by Cecilia Soprano. The book is also about the relationship between the self and the beloved, and about loss, growth and acceptance.

Our narrator finds a flower and picks it thoughtlessly. Falling in love with this sweet, silent other, she experiences the joy that comes with romance. But loss soon enters the picture, as it inevitably must in our world of time and space. Acceptance gives way to transcendence as she witnesses Rosie's greater purpose... and realizes her own eternal nature as well.

Rosie's Wisdom - whether read to a child, enjoyed in quiet contemplation, or in the setting of grief counseling, hospice or the healing arts, her "quiet beauty" fills the room, and the heart of the reader, with the real potential of human life, and the opportunity to grow into our true birthright.
