WARP AND WOOF CREATIONS

Donna Rhodes shares her love of fibre art and a fascination for surface
design. She has combined these creative energies and taken Pin-Weaving far beyond flat and
horizontal with her book, The Fine Art of Pin-Weaving, Creative Variations, co-written with Kathy Stachowicz.
Their aim is to inspire fibre artists to create a visually exciting line, texture, dimension,
form, and contour. Shaped weaving is an ancient practice, and the sewing world is heartily
welcomed to the venerable artform of Pin-Weaving.

DONNA RHODES

Donna is a dyed-in-the-wool weaver, a sheep to shawl master with more than 20 years experience as an artist and lecturer. When she's not up to her elbows in a marigold dye bath, she's touring as a musician and recording artist with Ars Antiqua, an early music ensemble. She's on the teaching faculty of several art centers, and she's been widely read in periodicals such as Fibrearts Magazine. Donna is the creator of a hand-dyed line of surface design fibres called Darn Good Yarn.
